Art-goers should head over to the National Gallery of Singapore from now until 111 March for the Century of Light exhibition. The artworks divide into two shows – Colours of Impressionism and Between Worlds – consisting of masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay as well as the works of renowned Southeast Asian artists, Raden Saleh and Juan Luna.
Colours of Impressionism will feature over 60 works by the masters Monet, Renoir, Manet, Pissarro and Cézanne and will highlight the importance of colour to these Impressionist painters of the 19th century. For fans of Southeast Asian art, Betwen Worlds will see the works of Indonesian artist Raden Saleh and Filipino artist Juan Luna. The exhibit serves as the first major show of the artists and their work that achieved wide acclaim in Europe.
